  Turkey Trot Acres Hunting Lodge, owned and operated by Licensed New York State hunting guide Pete Clare and his wife Sherry has developed into one of the finest hunting lodges in the country. We are an all-seasons operation specializing in fair chase hunts for wild turkeys. Our operation is designed to provide excellent lodging and hunting opportunities for serious outdoor folks!

  Turkey Trot Acres Hunting Lodge consists of a rustic new log cabin with thirty-eight hundred square feet of living space. We can accommodate eight hunters at one time. The lodge has four bedrooms, a large private "bunk house", four bathrooms, trophy and game room, stone fireplace and all the rustic charm you would expect to find at a "fancy" hunt'n camp. My wife Sherry, will keep us well fed with great home cooked meals; we assure you that you won't go hungry while at Turkey Trot Acres.

  Candor, New York is a small, rural farming community located thirty miles west of Binghamton and eighteen miles south of Ithaca, New York. The terrain in Tioga County is a mixture of rolling farmland and steep hardwood ridges. We are blessed with some of the finest Wild Turkey and Whitetail Deer hunting habitat in the Northeast.

  We have secured hunting rights to over 40,000 acres of private land as well as 20,000+ acres of state and private lumber company properties.

  Rest assured that all the hunts at Turkey Trot are the "Real Deal". We do it the old fashioned way ... no high fences, feeders, bottle fed bucks or pen raised turkeys. You will find thousands of acres of prime wildlife habitat and guides that know how to hunt!

  As we all move through the new millennium "progress" will severely limit hunting areas for many sportsmen. Fall and Winter Turkey Hunter’s Handbook

  In his Fall and Winter Turkey Hunter’s Handbook (Stackpole Books), author Steve Hickoff examines fall and winter turkey behavior and vocalizations, plus locating, scouting, and calling autumn wild turkeys, with tips for patterning birds and identifying changing flock composition. The material on firearms, ammunition, and archery tackle will benefit all turkey hunters. 

  The strategy of hunting fall turkeys with dogs by using them to find and flush flocks before calling scattered birds back is also represented in a lengthy chapter.
